That was then, this is now

Q The 80s has come to an end, following the decision by Bauer Media to discontinue Q Radio.

Thank you for reading this blog which, along with the Soundcloud page, will remain active, and especially thank you for listening to the programme. Hopefully it will re-emerge somewhere else soon.

  1. GUTTED. This was my favourite radio show. Thanks for everything Matthew, and I really hope that you find another home for the programme.

  2. Thanks for reminding me of so many long-forgotten gems of the decade. Good luck finding a new home, hope to hear the show again soon

  3. I thoroughly enjoyed listening, to the show, and always looked forward, to my Sunday evenings, especially the features, presented by an excellent DJ, who always was prepared to play material, that was not as well remembered, and never heard anywhere else, but fantastic, and refreshing to hear again, thank you, Matthew, for all of this.
The show is well established, with a large audience,so any station Manager, would inherit, and benefit, from all of this, into their schedule.

  4. Thank you Matthew for many enjoyable Sunday evenings. The show was unlike any other 80s show I've heard. You played the music that others didn't. The features The Harder I Try and Nobodies Diary will be sorely missed.
I really am very sorry that the show has come to an end but I hope you will return nationally somewhere soon and I wish you good luck for the future. So sadly it's good bye but I wish you good luck for the future.
    Thank you for the memories.

  5. Missing the show already.
Used to tune in every Sunday and just loved the diversity.
Who else would mix Visage, with Madonna and then follow with this island earth?
really hope you get a Sunday night somewhere very soon ,cant last without it.
Thanks for all those great tunes

  6. Good news...it's now on Absolute 80's - Sunday night 7pm-9pm. Retitled Forgotten 80's :)

Say hello, wave goodbye!
